Teacher Arlette has taught at UMC for the past 24 years, she holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Child Development Program Directors Permit.
Teacher Arlette’s first experience with UMC was a co-op parent – with both her children now former graduates of UMC. Arlette loves to read, write and spend time with family and friends.
“When a child graduates from UMC, they take with them a solid foundation that will help them throughout their life. Knowing that I’m making a positive difference in the lives of these little ones and hearing them say ‘I love school’ makes me proud because I know I’m doing my job”.
Teaches PreK and Parent/Child classes, with an emphasis on looking at each child as an individual and helping them to celebrate their own accomplishments.
Vikki holds a BA in Liberal Arts with a major in Sociology, and has a supervisor level in Early Childhood Education. Vikki has been at UMC for 14 years, starting her teaching career at UMC as an aide, and then lead teacher for the last ten years.
Outside of UMC, she loves spending time with her family, reading, gardening and dabbling in arts and crafts at home. Vikki is rather inspirational with her personal goals of learning something new every day, and making each day count.
“For me, I love the wonder and excitement in children’s eyes, and when they realize an accomplishment and smile with pride. I love when they find their own words to share their independence and feelings. I truly love being a teacher!”
She teaches two of the toddler classes and she teaches the Preschool class on Fridays. By nurturing, listening and guiding her pupils, Vikki teaches the values of love, respect, the freedom to problem solve and make decisions.
For the past 15 years Lisa has been aiding and teaching classes at UMC. She holds a teachers certificate and is currently studying for her Supervisor Permit.
For fun, Teacher Lisa adores flicking through thick glossy house magazines, dreaming of fixer up ideas for her own home.

Teacher for Pre K
Holds an Early Childhood Education qualification and has extensive experience selling and teaching outside the classroom.
Teacher Camille came to UMC first as a parent for 5 years and now a teacher for 6 years. She loves gardening, cooking and coming up with fun arts and crafts to entertain her own kids. Any downtime left over is spent exploring the Bay Area.
“The beauty of UMC is I not only do I get to know the amazing children that walk through the doors, but also the wonderful families they are connected to. Together we get to explore the world around us, develop skills to express our emotions and have fun through play.”
Aides in the toddler Classes and leads in the stay and play on Fridays. She also brings STEM and EQ projects into the classroom in a fun age appropriate way.
Teacher Lisa started teaching as an aide when she was 18. She has been with UMC for 11 years, first as a co-op parent for 4 years and a teacher for 7 years. Lisa now has an AA Degree in Early Childhood Education, and is currently studying a Bachelor’s Degree.
A huge fab of anything crafty, Teacher Lisa loves trying new things found on Pinterest. She loves reading and animals – volunteering with SPCA – and looking after her 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Lisa teaches Preschool and one of the Toddler classes. She emphasizes the importance of play and social emotional learning, and believes they are the building blocks of everything else.
Teacher Tam has been with UMC for 6 years, 2 years solely as a co-op parent, and 4 years as an aide and teacher while co-oping. She holds a Bachelors degree in Speech Language Pathology and a minor in Deaf Education.
Teacher Tam loves to paint, sew and maintain her own family’s tiny backyard ‘farm’ as well as leading her daughter’s Girl Scout troop.
“I adore our UMC community; with supportive parents, a creative faculty and incredible children. Watching our kids grow and learn is a priceless experience, and I’m so grateful to have sent my children here and have stayed on as staff!”
